Dog's Night Out -- January 2009: <photos>
Dog’s Night Out is a collaborative
venture between Three Dog Bakery® and local restaurants—such as
Grape Street Café & Wine Bar on West Lake Mead—to bring people and
their dogs together for charity.
Several years ago, on
a whim, Three Dog Bakery® approached restaurant managers with the idea
of Dog’s Night Out, an event where Three Dog Bakery would supply and
serve the dinner for the four-legged guests for a donation of $25 to a
local, no-kill animal shelter. The restaurant would cater to the
two-legged guests.
Local restaurants
offering outside patio dining thought it would be a new and different
incentive to attract customers, and were delighted with the chance to
give it a try.
Now, many years later,
Dog’s Night Out has become more successful than ever imagined, as
individual Three Dog Bakeries partner with restaurants throughout the
United States for a sensational dining experience. The demand for
reservations always exceeds expectations.
Dog’s Night Out is
increasingly successful and popular with customers and restaurant
personnel alike, as well as with the many non-profit organizations for
whom the event is held. Sign up for our
newsletter so you can join our
next Dog’s Night Out feast!
Photos with “The Grinch” -- December 2008:
The Grinch stole Christmas again this
year and brought it straight to Three Dog Bakery®, bringing with it
record numbers of dogs waiting for that perfect picture with the
infamous Christmas curmudgeon. Every picture was perfect, and each
dog received a matted 4x6, unmated 4x6, and eight wallet-sized photos.
The proceeds from Three Dog Bakery’s third annual Photos with the
Grinch
totaled more than $1,000, and will benefit the totally no-kill sanctuary
of the NSPCA. So please adopt a pet today, and help the shelter
succeed in its efforts to save abused, neglected, and abandoned pets.
Howl-o-ween Party -- October 2008:
Three Dog Bakery® third annual Howl-o-ween
party and costume contest scared up some spooky and creative costumes
for pups of all sizes. From fire dogs to skunks, and Jack Russells
masquerading as wienie dogs, we saw some of the best costumes in the
valley. The NSPCA was on hand to judge contestants, giving fabulous
prizes from Three Dog Bakery® to the best little dog, medium dog, large
dog, and family ensemble. After the contest, everyone walked away a
winner with people dipping into the steaming cocktail cauldron and
digging into a seven-layer dip. Pups chowed down on Boneyard Cake
and Pooch Spooks. We’re all looking forward to see what everyone comes
up with for next year’s event!
Jasper’s Birthday -- September 2008:
Though he wouldn’t share his age, Jasper was
happy to share his cake with everyone who stopped by the bakery to wish
him “Yappy Birthday.” In true Parson Russell form, he jumped for joy
all day long, sharing kisses and spreading joy to all.
“Mutt”ini
Night -- September 2008:
Whether mixed-breed or purebred,
everyone dressed up for “Mutt”ini Night, as we gathered for fabulous
food (including Spanish tortilla and olive tapenade). Tongues and tails
were wagging, and the “cockertails” flowed while we partied into the
evening, making new acquaintances and reconnecting with dear friends.
Canine Culinary
Experience
-- August 2008:
Three
Dog Bakery joined with
Paws n' Claws to pamper people’s pups with VIP treatment at
the third annual Canine Culinary Experience hosted by (and in support
of) the Nevada SPCA. The canine affair featured red-carpet arrival and
a doglicious four-course Three Dog Bakery® menu including flat-bread
pizza, tomato and garlic tartlets, lasagna made with all-natural Three
Dog Bakery®
Entrée for Dogs, and
Lickety Split doggie ice cream
for dessert. More than 75 dogs filled their bellies with our chef’s
culinary creations. And Three Dog Bakery presented Doug Duke, director
of the NSPCA, with a check for $900 collected on behalf of our generous
and loyal customers, who wanted to contribute to the NSPCA’s no-kill
shelter.
Of course, there are
only two ways to help keep the NSPCA a no-kill facility: adopt or
donate. For more information on how to do both, visit the NSPCA website
at
http://www.nevadaspca.org/.
Spa Night --
June 2008:
“What’s Spa Night?”
people ask as they browse our events list at the pastry counter.
“Probably our most ‘pup’ular event,” we reply. Certainly our most
relaxing event, Spa Night offers pups the opportunity to have more than
just a good body rub. Instead, they enjoy the benefits of IPTouch
therapeutic massage. Although the benefits of massage are well
documented, perhaps nothing displays better than a few pictures how much
dogs enjoy their massages!
Sangria Social -- May 2008:
Tongues were waggin’ over our Sangria
Social. Spanish-prosciutto-wrapped asparagus, bruschetta
with crustini, along with white and red sangria, were prepared for our upright
guests. And for the doggie diners, Rebecca made mini
Terrier
Twists®, Collie Flowers™ with
Entrée for Dogs, and Pet-it Fours®. Dancing the night away,
everyone had a dog-on good time.
Fun fact:
Based on the traditional red wine punch popular across Spain and the
rest of Europe for hundreds of years, Sangria was first tasted in the US
at the 1964 World's Fair in New York. The Spanish World area served
this fruity wine punch to its visitors, and history was made.

Cinco de Mayo --
May 2008:
With Mexican egg
rolls, mango and pomegranate margaritas, and both traditional and
mango salsas from which to choose, our two legged guests celebrated Cinco de Mayo in style with
their four-legged friends, who also dined well. Among the tasty
treats were
Puptarts™, mini
Drooly Dream Bars™, and yappetizers made from our very own
all-natural
Entrée for Dogs.
Neither an
official American holiday nor Mexican Independence Day, as many
people think, Cinco de Mayo really commemorates the victory of the
Mexican militia over the French army at The Battle of Puebla in
1862. Having won a great victory over the French, the Mexicans kept
Napoleon III from occupying their country
and from supplying the
Confederate rebels in the US, allowing the Union over the following
year to build the greatest army the world had ever seen and smash
the Confederates at Gettysburg just 14 months after the battle of
Puebla, essentially ending the Civil War.
So it seems that
both Mexico and the United States have much to celebrate on Cinco de
Mayo. And we surely did at
Three Dog
Bakery®.

Easter Begg Hunt, NSPCA Adopt-a-thon, and
Cockertail Party Munch Brunch -- April 2008:
It seemed the whole town hopped over to the
bakery to join the Easter Bunny for Three Dog Bakery’s third annual
Easter Begg Hunt. Several hundred eggs—filled with treats and
coupons—lay hidden throughout the plaza, waiting for the touch of wet
noses to disclose their locations. With heads low and tails high,
dozens of participating pups sniffed out every egg.
Sharing the fun with us was the
Nevada SPCA
and several of their adoptable doggies. In addition to raising
awareness of the local, no-kill shelter, we all enjoyed the successful
adoption of a very deserving dog. Check our events calendar for more
upcoming adopt-a-thons at Three Dog Bakery.
During the day’s
events, everyone enjoyed homemade hummus with pita chips
and fresh vegetables, coupled by Chef Rebecca’s assortment of Three Dog
Bakery’s all-natural, human-quality,
fresh-baked treats.

Spa Night -- March 2008:
Always sold out
weeks in advance, Spa Night was featured in the Summerlin
News article “Rub Spot, Rub” and has fast become Three Dog Bakery
Las Vegas’s most “pup”ular event. We set the mood with candles and
soothing music; you bring your pup; and licensed pet massage therapist
Janice Hanson of Creature Comfort Animal Massage massages your doggie’s
troubles away.
Your $10 advanced
donation holds your pup’s 15-minute massage reservation, and the
proceeds benefit the
Nevada SPCA. Check the events calendar for the
next Spa Night, and make your reservation for puppy pampering!
NSPCA Adoption & Cockertail Party Munch Brunch --
March 2008:
While people delightedly dug through every layer of the seven-layer dip, adoptable doggies strutted their stuff on the
lanai. Through the bountiful generosity of Three Dog Bakery customers,
we raised $260 in donations for the
Nevada SPCA. And every shelter pup in
attendance feasted on Three Dog Bakery all-natural, human-quality,
fresh-baked treats prepared by our pastry chef, Rebecca McCluskey.
